Intel mobile Metro notebook

Found this product on Business Week.  This Intel laptop is simply beautiful. I use Mac mostly and I rarely see PCs that I think has an appealing design. But this model is damn nice. Apparently Intel only had a few instructions for the designers. “The machine has to be fashionable, able to connect to all manner of wireless networks, and full of the latest, fastest computing capabilities. Oh yes, and make it as thin as Motorola’s Razr.”

The model is  the world thinnest laptop. It’s 0.7 inches thick and weights 2.25 pounds. Should be pretty impressive for most consumers.  If  I wasn’t such a Mac freek I probably would have been drooling over this model.

Getting A TV for my bedroom

I guess it’s time for me to get a TV in my bedroom also. I’m not really sure why but it has to be good for something, right? I feel that my Sunday mornings are way too active and could use a bit more of the lazy. Maybe it has been to long since a bought any new gadgets and I’m just starting to feel the gadget-itch.

I think a 26″ display will do fine for my bedroom but then again you can almost never go to big in terms of screen size ;). I started to check out some lcd tv reviews and have narrowed it down (I think) to Samsung and Sony. Now it’s only time to see which model to choose from. To be honest the most important thing here is the appearance of the TV rather than having the best possible picture.

What do you think of these?

By the way, I would really like to see Testfreaks launch their site soon so I can get more help!

One of the world most expensive keyboards

Optimus Maximus has generated alot of comments and articles and it’s now possible to pre-order the keyboard model. The ground breaking thing about this keyboard is that every key is a OLED-display. The user can choose what to display on each button and what the key function is. This makes it easy to create shortcut keys to your favorite applications. The keyboard has 103 keys and costs approximately 1260 euro or 1565 US$.

Haier Elegance

This model really looks like a JUST a MP3-player but is in fact a mobile phone too. The Haier Elegance is now available in UK. The dimensions measures 9.1cm x 3.5cm x 1.8cm, and it only weights 64g. In this model you have a FM radio, MP3 player, Bluetooth 1.2 w/ wireless stereo support, 128 MB internal memory, and a removable microSD memory. The 3 hour talktime is not that impressive though. On the other hand what can you expect when they’ve trimmed down the batteries this much.

A new type of photo frame

eStarling 2.0 Wi-Fi Photo Frame is a new type of photo frame, which makes it possible to show digital photos on your walls. Like ThinkGeek put it “printed photos are so last-decade”. The frame connects with local Wi-Fi networks and allows you to send photos via e-mails and RSS photo feeds.

It’s a beautiful product but the price is a bit high in my opinion. They want $249.99. It’s not exactly that it’s too much, but they should be able to make it even cheaper. After all, if you add a couple of bucks you can get a TV instead.

I bought a new camera - Samsung S630

I’m so happy today since I finally bought my new digital camera and I just love it. It’s a Samsung S630 a budget 6 mega pixel camera but the shots I have taken so far are well over average. The reason why I got a “low-end” camera instead of buying a more expensive camera is that I just want a easy point-and-shot camera that I can have with me always and that I don’t have to be afraid of loosing. For the real important shots I will start looking for a SLR camera and I think that will be a good mix.

The letter “i” in product names

Since the launch of iPod and other Apple products with the beautiful letter “i” in their product names, alot of products has been launched with similiar names. I’ve noticed it before just that I thought it would be fun to se what kind of products I could find with this type of name. From Apple we have the usual iMac, iPod (of course), iTunes (more like a service) and so on. But it’s more fun to look at other companies. So here goes…
iTeater, iKaraoke, iDog, iCat, iFish, iAxe , iTrips, iGrill, i Light Speaker, iAudio, iRythms, iDrumsticks… the list just keep on going.
The sad thing is that this is just a small portion of all the physical products I could find in 10 min. I tried typing “i” along with some other words on Google, which resulted in a couple of software products and websites. Felt almost as if I could type “i” along with anything and something would appear in the SERP. To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if we soon find iHam in our conveniece stores. Makes you wonder if the letter “i” will ever be worn out, and if so which letter comes next? Will it be “a” since it’s the first letter in the alphabet or will we continue from “i”, thus making “j” the next prefix in our product names.

Bean lamp

Mathmos Aduki Ni

Found this model on ThinkGeek, thought it was mentionable since I think it has an appealing design. Allthought I don’t think it will work in my apartment. Aduki Ni is Mathmos new lamp that looks pretty much like a bean. When it’s turned off it looks like a chrome bean, and once you turn it on it pulses through a spectrum of different colors. Apparently you can pause the lamp at your favorite color. The model is waterproof (Don’t ask me why, I guess if you want to take it swimming) and it has rechargeable batteries that lasts about 6 h. It’s made as an indoor/outdoor lamp so that’s probably why it’s waterproof. The model costs $60 and one could question if that is a reasonable price. It might be worth it if it fits your design style.
Gizmodo has also written about this product and they also have a video clip of Aduki Ni in action. The manufacturer Mathmos makes alot of cool lamps if your searching for some new interior design stuff for your home.

Gelaskins

Found this beautiful product on Gizmodo. I myself haven’t seen it before but apparently Gizmodo has mentioned it previously. Gelaskins is a skin for Macbooks and Macbook Pros. The product is also available to most of the iPods. It’s supposed to be easy to put on without getting bubbles underneath and they also promise that should you want to remove it, it can be done easily. The good thing about it (besides making your iPod/Macbook look more personified) is that the Gelaskin protects your appliance against scratches.

Here are the ones I like the most. Probably going to buy one myself.

No more ink cartridges

Zink

Zink “Zero ink” is a new inkless printing technology. By heating dye crystals, that are contained in the paper, colors show up. The paper is made from a resilient composite structure which is said to preserve the printed image. It is also always dry and is not light sensitive unlike old photos. This technology makes it possible to make extremely small printers since no space is required for ink cartridges or ribbons. The ZINK printers are not affected by gravity and since they can be so small it’s possible to fit them into consumer electronics like: mobile phones, digital cameras and so on. The paper is said to be affordable too, which is quite appealing since I think cartridges are quite expensive.
