Creative way to improve traffic?
There are and there has been numerous ways to improve traffic on your website. Recently I’ve stumbled upon a couple of sites that are giving away products in exchange for backlinks. One could question the method. I mean doesn’t it feel a bit like a bribe more than an exchange. And it’s not even a decent bribe, more like a lottery. There has also been mentioned in a thread on Digitalpoint. Some examples are:

I like it even if the method is a bit questionable. “All is fair in love and war”, and the battle over the traffic on the net is certainly a war. I wouldn’t use this method myself (I think), but it’s probably really effective.

Hi! Thanks for the link to my site. It wasn’t really something that was planned, I just sort of did it haha. It’s kind of funny, my girlfriend and I were discussing my site while we were at the gym — and it sort of popped up. Why not give some totally random person an iPod? I looked around online to find the best way to do it, and found upstartblogger and decided to do it the same way.
A few really cool sites link me, and I figure why not give it to someone who links. It’s easier to keep track of, and that way it’s not a contest it’s technically a gift.
